OLIVE TURNER STAFFORD,

A wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend went to be with her Lord at 9:00 pm Thursday April 5, 2012 at Good Samaritans Living Center at 85 years of age. She was born September 20, 1926 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama and attended LSU and was a resident of Franklinton for 58 years.

Olive was a very talented artist and longtime member of the Washington Parish Art Association. She will always be remembered for the beautiful porcelain dolls she made with friends Clara Thigpen and Corrie Corkern. A charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school in the preschool department for many years.

Daughter in law: Tommie Lou Stafford of Franklinton

Also numerous nieces and nephews, and a wonderful friend and longtime caregiver Lucille Bickham

She was preceded in death by a son Hollis “Pete” Stafford, III, her parents JD and Vesta Pickett Turner and brother in law John E. Stafford.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday April 7th from 9 am until 11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Gene Richards and Rev. Andrew Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Knight Memorial Gardens in Enon.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Chris Foret, Riverside Medical Center, Good Samaritans Living Center, and Community Care Hospice for their wonderful loving care and support.
