And a resident of Mt. Hermon died at 7:30 pm Saturday August 3, 2013 at his home. He was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired as a pipe-fitter with the Local 198 and was also a retired dairyman who enjoyed spending his time drinking coffee and visiting with friends at Brooks’ Café. Wayne was well known as a kind and friendly neighbor who would help others any way that he could.

Survived by:

Wife of 50 years: Sue Alford of Mt. Hermon

Son: David Alford of Mt. Hermon

2 Daughters and a Son in law: Patty Alford of Mt.Hermon, Kristi and William Morgan of Denton, TX

5 Grandchildren: Trenton Alford, Mason Alford, Alex Brock, Wesley Morgan, Kyla Morgan

Sister: Emma McDaniel and her friend Jack Rainey both of Baton Rouge

Brother and Sister in law: Hughie and Betty Alford of Hammond

6 Sisters in law and spouse: Geraldine Wiley of Deville, LA, Nadine Berry of Dazell, SC, Terry Sumner and Dan, Delores Lankster and Harris all of Many, Abby Prinzivilla of Staton Island, NY, Claudie Nelle and Doyle of Frankston, TX

2 Brothers in law and spouse: Travis White and Sherrian of Pineville, LA, Mike White of Frankson, TX Also numerous sisters in law and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Creason Alford and Claudia McElveen Alford and a brother in law Charles Ray White.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday August 6th from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Kemp officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
