Dorothy Maricelli

DOROTHY FAYE YATES MARICELLI, AGE 84 And a resident of the Lee Road Community received her angel wings at 3:17 am Monday June 27, 2016 at the Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church International that liked to focus her attention to the mission field and also mentoring young families and new Christians. Dorothy greatly believed in the power of prayer and she did just that on behalf of her family, church or those in need. She and her husband were instrumental in the planting and building of a new church in Argentina and would often employ people around the house just for the opportunity to witness to them. She was affectionately known as “Ms. Dorothy” to the many people who often heard her on the local Swap Shop and she also liked to sew and make crafts. Dorothy enjoyed playing card games with her family and friends. According to her family, her life revolved around reading God’s Word, visiting and working alongside her church family and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." Psalm 119:165 Survived by: Her Loving Husband of 62 years: Rev. D.E. Maricelli of Lee Road 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Rick and Donna Maricelli, James and Rhonda Maricelli all of Lee Road 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Donna and Glynn Newman of Franklinton, Felecia and Phillip Nicholson of Lee Road, Mary Phelps of Omaha, NE 10 Grandchildren and Spouses 17 Great-grandchildren 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Grace and C.D. Thornton of Lake Charles, Lynda Croom of Pineville 2 Brothers and a Sister in law: Wade Yates, Jackie and Ruth Yates all of McLeod, TX 2 Sisters in law: Lois Yates of Dallas, TX, Bonnie Yates of Huffines, TX Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Wade Alton Yates and Charlie Mae Parker Yates, and brothers Homer Yates and Charles Neal Yates. Visitation will be at The Pentecostals of Lee Road church; 17700 Hwy. 40, Covington, LA 70435; Wednesday June 29th from 6 pm until 9 pm and after 10 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 3 pm Thursday with Rev. T.F. Tenney, Rev. Leon Hickman, Rev. Anthony Mangun, Rev. Kevin Cox, Rev. Paul Trentacoste and Rev. Doug Klinedinst officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
