ELMA RAE TOUCHSTONE, AGE 75 And a resident of Franklinton went to be with her Lord at 7:30 pm January 23, 2012 at Regency Hospital in Covington. El was born in Thomas on December 6, 1935 to Frank and Eunice Thomas. El married Charles Hunter Touchstone on October 13, 1953. She was a faithful wife, mother and Christian who was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. El and Charles raised their family in the Bogue Chitto Heights area and she worked at Rutter Rex for over 20 years. El loved her family and friends very much. She had a very special relationship with her grandson Derek and his son Ethan. They were very close and spent practically every day together. Mom may have been concerned that we thought she loved them more than the rest, but for all of us children, that was never an issue. We were happy that she was there for them and they were so close, but we knew she loved everyone of us. Survived by: 2 Daughters and a son in law: Kathy Lynn Atwood of Owasso, OK; Rebecca Lynn and Bill Sanders of Meridian, MS 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Charles Gary and Donna Touchstone of Franklinton; Johnny Ray and Pat Touchstone of Odessa, TX 9 Grandchildren 9 Great-grandchildren 2 Sisters: Wessie Jones of Thomas; Flora Phillips of Tylertown Brother: John Thomas of Franklinton Also numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Touchstone, parents Frank Thomas and Eunice Dillon Thomas, grandsons David Shane Atwood and Sean Hunter Touchstone, and sisters Mary Knight and Frankie Thomas Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday January 25th from 5 pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue at 9 am Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at the church at 11 am with Rev. Walter Mixon, Rev. Stan Statham, Rev. Greg Touchstone, and Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery. El’s family would like to thank several people for all the kind deeds they’ve done. For staying with mom during her illness, Lois Hamilton, Alicia Thomas, Mary Penton, Shirley Brooks, Sheila Gaines. For being her best friend, Virginia Miller. For being a good son in law and always helping our mom, John Busby. For all those visiting mom and showing her so much love, her sisters Flora and Wessie, her brother John and all the nieces and nephews. Plus, we want to thank Bro. Walter Mixon and the church family at Trinity Baptist Church and the staff of Regency Hospital.
