James N. Magruder, III

James N. “Jim” Magruder, III age 23 and a resident of Franklinton, LA joined his Lord on Friday, October 20, 2006 at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA, secondary to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His laughter will forever resound in the hearts of family and friends. He loved LSU football, jambalaya, and being surrounded by those he loved. A 2001 graduate of Bowling Green School in Franklinton, LA, he obtained a B.A. in Philosophy and English from Fordham University in New York, New York in 2005. He was employed as a loan officer at Citizens Finance Company / Magee Financial Corporation in Ponchatoula, LA. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Franklinton, where he made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ as a child. He is survived by wife, Meghan Hebert Magruder, and his daughter Abbey Elizabeth Magruder; his parents James and Tammy Magruder, his grandmothers Althea Magee and Kathryn Magruder, all of Franklinton. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Marsha and Jim Hebert, and his sister-in-law Lauren Hebert, all of Raceland, LA. He was much loved and will be sadly missed by his devoted extended family who shared so much in his brief life: Dianne and Richard Dillon, JoEllen and Errol Voinche, Connie Magee, David and Donie Magee, Mark and Heidi Magee, Pam and Dorman Davidson, Jackie Weber, Virgil and Sherri Magruder, and Joyce Seal. Also the cousins whose homecomings he always cherished: Grant and Pam Dillon, Darren and Marnie Dillon, Clint Dillon, Nikki and Shane May, Ashley and Kyle Smith, Zak Magee, Alexa Ingram, The Magee clan: Hallie, Madison, Patton, Donie, Greyson, Fletcher, Hudson, Striklon, and Emerson; Blake Magee, Landon Magee, and Kinni Magee, Dan and Julie Garrett, Nancy and Jack Hoover, Ken Weber, Angie Weber, Jennifer Magruder, Ray Magruder, George Dillon Seal, and Macie Seal. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Robert E. Magee and James N. Magruder, Sr. and his cousin Carlee Ingram. The fulfillment of his purpose on this Earth lives past his death, as, at the time of his passing, Jim became an organ donor, with his gifts of life giving hope to families who had prayed for such a miracle in their lives. He would wish for those who survive him love and laughter and a peace that surpasses our understanding, but is now fully understood in his loving heart. Visitation will be from 5 -9 PM Sunday at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Franklinton, LA. Visitation will continue after 9 AM Monday until time for the service at 11 AM at the church with Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Magee Family Cemetery in Franklinton.
