Bobby Kenneth McDaniel

BOBBY KENNETH MCDANIEL, AGE 78 and a resident of Franklinton died at 6:10 pm Saturday June 29, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center. He was a longtime member of Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Franklinton Masonic Lodge 101 for almost 50 years. Mr. McDaniel was formerly a member of the Louisiana National Guard for 12 years before honorably discharging as a SPC E-7 and he retired as a manager from Washington-St. Tammany Electric Co-op while also working in real estate and insurance. During earlier years he was a proud coach with the Franklinton Little League. He was always very civic minded and served 3 terms on the Franklinton Town Council, serving 4 years as Police Commissioner, as well as being a past President and board member of the Franklinton Chamber of Commerce. Mr. McDaniel was a former member of the Franklinton Rotary Club where he was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award and he served 30 years as a board member of the Washington Parish Fair Association. He was also a member of the Washington Parish and Franklinton Area Economic Development Foundations. Survived by: Wife of 57 years: Peggy Lou Welch McDaniel of Franklinton Son and Daughter in law: Robert and Connie McDaniel of Franklinton 2 Grandsons: Michael McDaniel of Hattiesburg, MS, Eric McDaniel of Franklinton Brother and Sister in law: Ralph and Erma McDaniel of Covington Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Wilfred and Anita Welch of Laurel, MS, Betty and Clyde Breeden of Richland, MS Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members He was preceded in death by a son Bobby Kenneth McDaniel, Jr., his parents Eld. Tom McDaniel and Allie Creel McDaniel, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday July 1st from 6 pm until 10 pm with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue after 12 pm Tuesday at Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church until the funeral service at 2 pm with Bro. Brent King, Bro. Donnie Broome, and Bro. Larry Archote officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
