MYRTLE SUMRALL NIELSON, AGE 82 And a resident of the Hackley Community died at 7:00 pm Tuesday April 15, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a member of Stateline United Pentecostal Church and a former seamstress at the Haspel Garment Factory. Myrtle worked alongside her husband and family on their Dairy and operated Nielson’s Grocery for many, many years. She enjoyed swinging on her front porch swing while visiting with her friends and family, often drinking coffee to pass the time. She was a good cook that, according to her family, made the “world’s best biscuits” and she will be sadly missed by those that knew her best. Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Ronnie and Joan Nielson, Gary and Carel Nielson all of Hackley 9 Grandchildren and Spouses: Danny and Suzette Nielson, Kimberly and Jim Miller, Vickie and Mike McNeal,Rhonda Nielsen, Christopher Nielson, Pamela Nielson and Andrew Blair, Grant and Lynette Nielson, Bridgette and Danny Knight, Matt and Tenille Nielson 19 Great-grandchildren and Spouses: Dustin and Johanna Nielson, Danielle and Brandon Whaley, Kassidy Nielson, Darrell Burris, Katie Burris, Kayla Magee, Landon Magee, Brianna and Bennie Spears, Brandyn Jones, Hunter Jones, Christian Nielson, Logan Nielson, Addison Nielson, Kruz Blair, Alexis Nielson, McKinley Nielson, Mercedes Davis, Jaden Lerue Jacobs, McKale Knight 1 Great-great-grandson: Bryce Whaley Sister: Jeanette Sumrall 5 Brothers: Jewell Sumrall, Billy Ray Sumrall, Virgil Sumrall, Levi Sumrall, Mike Sumrall Also numerous nieces and nephews and other family members She was preceded in death by her husband Joe A. Nielson, Jr., daughter and son in law JoAnn and Mike Magee, a son Lerue Nielson, her parents Zander Sumrall and Liddie Spears Sumrall and 5 brothers Murle Sumrall, James Sumrall, Doyle Sumrall, Darvin Sumrall, Zander Sumrall, Jr. Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday April 16, 2014 from 6 pm until 9 pm and after 10 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 4 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. W.L. Tullos, Eld. Duane Ball, and Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating.
